Custom Specialty Wraps

Custom Specialty Wraps for Sports Cars, Jeeps, and One-Off Builds in DFW

What Is a Custom Specialty Wrap?

A custom specialty wrap is a one-off design for a vehicle that doesn’t fit a standard work-truck or fleet layout, such as a sports car, a show car, an off-road Jeep, or a car built to promote a single product. These projects lean on design, since the goal is usually to stand out rather than list services. At 1st Class Graphics in Mansfield, TX, we design, print, and install specialty wraps in-house, from racing-style graphics on a Chevrolet Corvette for SMG Speed Shop to a full wrap on a Dodge Challenger for Boostane. Each design is drawn around the car’s own body lines instead of a generic template. For everyday sedans and compact cars, see our car wraps page.

Color Changes, Stripes, and Accent Graphics

Not every specialty project covers the whole vehicle. A color change wrap gives the body an entirely new look while the factory paint stays underneath, like the pink Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we wrapped with printed graphics along its sides. Stripes, hood graphics, and accent pieces add personality without full coverage, as on the partial wraps we’ve done for a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and a Chevrolet Camaro. Smaller projects like these are a good way to try a look before committing to more. Accent graphics can also go on a vehicle that already has a wrap or custom paint, as long as the surface underneath is in good condition. For more on combining wrapped and painted areas, see our partial vehicle wraps page.

Promotional and Show Vehicles

Some vehicles exist to be noticed: a product showcase, a shop’s demo car, or a vehicle built for events. For these, the design grows out of the brand story, with bold color and a clear logo that stands out at car shows, meets, and in photos shared online. SMG Speed Shop’s Corvette carries the shop’s name as part of its racing graphics, and Boostane’s Dodge Challenger turns the entire car into product advertising. When a vehicle is meant to promote a service business rather than a product, our commercial vehicle wraps page covers work vehicles.

What to Plan Before a Custom Specialty Wrap

Design Direction

Collect examples of colors, finishes, and styles you like, even from other vehicles.

Coverage Level

Decide between full coverage, a color change, or accents like stripes and hood graphics.

Body Condition

Point out chips, resprays, and body repairs, since vinyl shows the surface underneath.

Event Dates

Share any show or event dates so the design and install fit your timeline.

Specialty wraps depend heavily on design, so share as much about the look you want as you can. Send photos of the vehicle from every side, the year, make, and model, and any logos or artwork you plan to use. If the vehicle has aftermarket body parts, spoilers, or custom trim, tell us so the layout accounts for them. Boats are covered on their own page at boat wraps. When you’re ready, get a free quote and we’ll talk through options for your build.

Custom Specialty Wrap FAQs

What counts as a custom specialty wrap?

A custom specialty wrap is any one-off design that isn’t a standard business or fleet layout: sports car graphics, color changes, show and promotional vehicles, and off-road builds. If your project doesn’t fit neatly on another service page, it probably belongs here, and we’ll help you decide the right approach before any design work starts.

A custom wrap’s cost depends on the vehicle’s size, how much of it you cover, the complexity of the design, and the finish you choose. A set of stripes is a far smaller job than a full color change. Send photos and a short description of the look you want to get a free quote.

Yes. A color change wrap covers the painted panels in a new color or finish, and your original paint stays protected underneath. Because it can be reversed, it’s a popular alternative to a repaint on cars you may sell later. Results are best on factory paint without chips or failing clear coat.

A properly installed wrap won’t harm healthy factory paint, and removing it correctly leaves the finish as it was. Problems come from surfaces that were weak to begin with, like resprayed panels or clear coat that’s already breaking down. On show cars, we look closely at every panel before recommending a wrap.

Care and storage matter most. Specialty and show vehicles that live in a garage and see fewer miles tend to keep their wraps looking good longer than daily drivers parked in the sun. Gentle hand washing and quick attention to any lifted edge extend the life of almost any finish.
