OUR PROCESS

Your Vehicle, Your Brand.

A QUALITY WRAP

Every Wrap Is Judged Twice, Once While It's Driving, Once Up Close

A great vehicle wrap has to do two jobs: get noticed on the road, and hold up under close inspection for years. Most wrap shops focus on installation alone. At 1st Class Graphics, quality starts before design and continues long after installation, through seven stages that determine whether a wrap looks professional on day one and still looks professional two years from now.

There are two kinds of wrap quality: advertising quality (does the design actually get your business noticed and understood?) and installation quality (was it produced and applied so it looks professional and lasts?). A flawless installation of weak artwork is still a bad commercial wrap. We design and install for both.

WHO you are (Recognition):

Logo, brand colors, and business name placed where the eye lands first, sized to register at a glance

WHAT you do (Readability of Message):

One clear service statement, sized and structured to read in the few seconds a passing vehicle allows

HOW to recognize or contact you (Branding + Contact/Action):

Phone number/website legible from a distance, styled consistently across every vehicle for fleet recognition

01

INSPECT

We Check the Surface Before We Trust It

Every wrap starts with a full inspection of your vehicle’s paint, clear coat, existing rust, body damage, prior repairs, and any old graphics still on the surface. A wrap is only as reliable as what it’s adhered to, catching issues here prevents lifting and peeling later.

Vehicle Measurement — We measure your actual vehicle rather than relying only on digital templates, which don’t account perfectly for curves, trim, body lines, or configuration differences between model years.

Visual Hierarchy

Your business name, service, and call-to-action are structured to be understood at a glance. Too much information weakens the wrap's effectiveness.

Viewing Distance

Font sizes, contrast, and graphic elements are sized to stay recognizable from across a road or parking lot, not just on a monitor.

Vehicle-Aware Design

Key text and logos are placed so they don't disappear into door seams, handles, wheel wells, fuel doors, or extreme body curves.

Panel-to-Panel Alignment

Artwork is planned in advance so graphics line up visually once separate printed panels are installed across the vehicle.

Brand & Color Accuracy

Color management keeps your brand consistent across every panel and across every vehicle, for fleets.

02

DESIGN

Built for a Moving, Three-Dimensional Surface, Not a Flat Screen

A vehicle wrap isn’t just a large graphic, it’s designed specifically to work on a vehicle’s curves, panels, and gaps while still reading clearly at a distance and in motion.

03

PRODUCE

Print Quality Determines Whether a Wrap Holds Up at Full Scale

Artwork resolution, printer calibration, and production quality control decide whether your graphics stay crisp when blown up to full vehicle size, not just on-screen.

  • Professional Wrap Film — Vinyl is selected for the specific application; not every adhesive vinyl is interchangeable.
  • Compatible Laminate — Printed graphics are protected with the right laminate for UV exposure, abrasion, and daily wear.

04

PREPARE

What Happens Before the Vinyl Touches the Vehicle Matters Most

Vehicles need more than a normal wash. We fully decontaminate the surface, removing wax, grease, silicone, road film, and detailing product residue, because any of these can prevent proper adhesion.

  • Final Surface Preparation — Critical edges, recesses, and install zones get focused prep immediately before application.
  • Strategic Disassembly — Handles, emblems, lights, trim, and other components are removed where doing so produces a cleaner, more finished result.

05

INSTALL

Precision Technique, Not Excessive Stretching

Installation happens in a controlled shop environment, since temperature, dust, and moisture all affect adhesion and finish quality. Our installers plan every panel before applying a single sheet.

Panel Planning

Where each piece of vinyl begins and ends is determined in advance, not improvised mid-install.

Proper Vinyl Positioning

Film is carefully positioned rather than forced into place with excess stretching.

Tension Management

Overstretching causes future shrinkage, distortion, and lifting; we control and distribute tension deliberately.

Compound Curves

Bumpers, mirrors, and complex curves require specialized multi-directional technique.

Deep Recess Installation

Channels and recesses are common failure points on rushed jobs, we treat them as their own step.

Tucking

Where appropriate, material is extended and tucked behind trim or edges instead of simply cut off and left exposed.

Edge Wrapping

Material wraps around the edge where appropriate, so the termination point is protected and less visible.

Corner Finishing

Corners are trimmed and tensioned carefully to avoid bunching, wrinkles, or premature lifting.

Seam Placement

When seams are unavoidable, their location, direction, and overlap are planned to minimize visibility.

Safe Trimming

Vinyl is trimmed with precision that doesn't put your paint at risk from the blade.

06

FINISH

The Details That Separate a Good Wrap From a Great One

Post-heating brings stretched or formed film to the manufacturer’s specified conditions to stabilize it long-term. Trim, handles, and emblems are then carefully reinstalled.

Post-Heating

Applied wherever the film manufacturer requires it for material that's been stretched or shaped.

Hardware Reassembly

Every removed component goes back on with care.

Final Quality-Control Inspection

We inspect panel alignment, seams, edges, corners, recesses, bubbles, wrinkles, contamination, and overall finish before you ever see the vehicle.

Customer Walkaround

You get a full walkaround with our team to inspect the finished vehicle and understand what to expect from it.

07

PROTECT

A Wrap's Lifespan Depends on How It's Cared For After Installation

Proper washing methods, safe chemical use, pressure-washing guidelines, and awareness of environmental exposure all affect how long your wrap looks new. We send every customer home with the care guidelines that protect their investment.

I highly recommend 1st Class Graphics for all commercial vehicle marketing materials. My initial discovery call with Gary was very informative and enthusiastic. Next was the design phase, where the graphic designer brought my ideas into reality. It was a collaborative effort from start to finish, only requiring 3 iterations. Lastly, payment and pickup. They are priced competitively and have a quick turnaround. When I received my trailer I was pleasantly shocked at the value I received! Just look at the pics! Needles to say 1st Class Graphics has secured a lifelong customer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About Our Process, Answered

How long does a vehicle wrap take from start to finish?

Most single-vehicle wraps take a few days to a week once the design is approved, depending on the vehicle size and complexity. Fleet projects take longer since we schedule vehicles in batches to keep your business running. We’ll give you a firm timeline during your quote.

Yes, for the printing and installation phases. Design and approval happen beforehand, so your vehicle only needs to be at the shop once we’re ready to prep and apply the wrap.

We flag it during the Stage 1 inspection before any work begins. In some cases we can wrap around minor cosmetic issues, but significant paint damage or rust needs to be addressed first so it doesn’t affect adhesion or show through the vinyl.

Yes. We use color management during design and production to keep your brand consistent across every panel, and across every vehicle if you’re wrapping a fleet.

A properly installed wrap typically lasts 5 to 7 years with correct care, though this depends on material, vehicle usage, and exposure to sun and weather. Our Stage 7 aftercare guidelines are built to help you get the most life out of it.

Yes. Partial wraps are a common option for businesses that want strong branding at a lower cost. We’ll walk you through what makes sense for your vehicle and budget.
