Box Truck Wraps

Box Truck Wraps That Turn Every Delivery Route Into a Billboard

What Is a Box Truck Wrap?

A box truck wrap is printed vinyl applied to the cargo box and often the cab of a box truck, turning its flat sides and rear door into advertising space. Box truck wraps give you more flat, uninterrupted surface than almost any other vehicle, which is why they read more like a billboard than a vehicle graphic. A single side of a box can hold a large brand name, one clear message, and a phone number sized for traffic across the lane. Delivery, moving, catering, food distribution, and restoration companies use that space because their trucks are on the road all day. 1st Class Graphics in Mansfield, TX designs, prints, and installs box truck wraps in-house. If your company runs box trucks alongside vans and pickups, see our fleet vehicle wraps page.

Designing for the Box, the Cab, and the Roll-Up Door

A box truck design has three zones that work differently: the long flat sides, the cab, and the rear door. The sides carry the main message and imagery, because they’re the largest and flattest panels and face other drivers in the next lane. The cab usually carries the logo and a matching color so the truck looks like one vehicle rather than a branded box on a plain truck. The rear roll-up door is made of horizontal slats, so text is placed to stay readable across the seams and when the door is partly raised during loading. Rivets and corner posts on the box are also planned around so they don’t cut through key words. You can see finished box trucks in our wrap portfolio.

USDOT Markings and What Goes on a Box Truck

If your box truck operates as a commercial motor vehicle under FMCSA rules, federal regulation 49 CFR 390.21 requires the carrier’s name and USDOT number on both sides, in letters that contrast sharply with the background and are readable from 50 feet in daylight. A wrap is the cleanest way to meet that, because the marking becomes part of the design instead of a sticker added afterward. We place it on the doors or the box so it stays clear of handles, steps, and fuel doors. Beyond required markings, the best box truck wraps keep text short: company name, what you do, and how to reach you. Your carrier status is between you and FMCSA, and our commercial vehicle wraps page covers other required markings.

What to Plan Before Wrapping a Box Truck

Box Length

Share the box length and height, since a 16-foot and a 26-foot box change how large the main message can be.

Rear Door Type

Tell us whether the rear is a roll-up door or swing doors, because each needs a different layout.

Lift Gate and Steps

Note any lift gate, grab handles, or side steps that sit in the design area.

Cab Coverage

Decide whether the cab gets full coverage, a matching color, or only lettering to tie it to the box.

Box truck projects start with the truck’s dimensions and how it’s used. Send photos of both sides and the rear, the box length and height, and the make and model of the cab. List your logo files, the one message you want other drivers to remember, and any USDOT or license numbers that must appear. If the truck is leased or rented long term, check the agreement for graphics before booking. Because box sides are so large, image quality matters, so send the highest-resolution photos or artwork you have, or let our designers build the imagery. Box Truck Wrap FAQs

How much does it cost to wrap a box truck?

The cost to wrap a box truck depends mainly on the box length, whether the cab is included, and how much design work the imagery needs. A short box with lettering and a long box with full photographic coverage are very different projects. Send your truck’s dimensions to get a free quote.

Yes, many businesses wrap only the box and add lettering or a matching color band to the cab. Wrapping the box alone keeps the cost down while still using the largest advertising surface, and it can be expanded to the cab later without redesigning the box.

Yes, roll-up doors can be wrapped, but the design has to account for the horizontal slats and the seams between them. We place text so it stays readable across the slats and when the door is partly open, and keep fine details away from the gaps where they’d break up.

A box truck wrap lasts longest when the truck is washed regularly and the roof edges and upper panels aren’t scraped by loading docks or low branches. Trucks parked outdoors in full sun wear faster than those kept under cover overnight.

Yes, a box truck wrap can be updated by replacing individual panels, such as one side or the rear door, when an offer, phone number, or service changes. Planning changeable information into separate areas of the design makes those updates simpler.
